Anatomy of a Werewolf Book

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 24, 2008, 7:02 AM
Hello again all. I have not been on DA for a very long time and I'm only coming back briefly. I have a lot of trouble navigating this site, which was my main reason for leaving it originally. However, I'm still around and have posted a new sketch and some info. about the werewolf book, which will definately get produced by Christmas this year! So those who have been eagerly awaiting this for over a year, you'll be seeing the finished copy at last!

Other News: While away I had a baby, a son named Nicholas. I had to take expensive and painful stomach injections to thin my blood every day due to the risk of clotting I have and to save both our lives. I am ok and he was born healthy, but born with clubfoot (unrelated to the drugs), which is slowly being corrected with casts and bracing. Our medical bills are very high, and so all profits from this book go towards paying off said bills and also for necessities for Nicholas...because I never realized how many diapers you really need in a single day and boy are the costs adding up!

Anatomy of a Werewolf IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!!!

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 9, 2007, 10:28 AM
Please note that it's been a long time since I used DA. I find it impossible to use now that I don't pay for it anymore, so I've been using FA instead since I can navigate it, see images, post, and read my comments better. If you want to see more images from the book or keep updated with my work, please see my gallery here: [link]

Also, those that have pre-ordered (and even those that have not), please contact me via email (Watergazer@Comcast.net) or DA note (email preferred) with your physical address I can ship the book to and also so I can keep you posted when the book will be ready (July 4th)!

Pre-Orders for "Anatomy of a Werewolf" L

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 22, 2007, 8:55 PM
Hello again, I'm just posting this to let you know that I've decided to make the pre-sales limited to 20 early edition copies. When you order on pre-sale, unless you are picking up at MFF con, you get two special things: 1) a free antler pendant and 2) your edition at least a week before the official released copies that will be sold at MFF.

I have gotten a few pre-orders so far, but there's a few more slots...so if you're still interested, copies are $35 with $5 ship. within the US. Contact me for an outside the US quote. Also, CD versions of the book will only go on sale at MFF con and as of yet I don't know how many of them I will have, or what they will go for.

Note, all books come spiral bound for easy artist referance (though if they sell out at MFF con I will plan for a perfect-bound edition as well), and shrink-wrapped for protection. Your book will also come signed and numbered, with a color bookplate insert (still working on that one).

Also, all original sketches will be up for grabs at MFF con or prior if you see soething you like that I post before inking. Just make an offer.

Hardcore TMNT fan?

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 22, 2007, 8:54 PM
I have been a serious TMNT figure collector since the 80's. The TMNT have seen me through hard times and life in general, and I have 250-300 good-mint condition figures on display in a special street/sewer closet my husband made for me in my studio.

However, things being as they are, I have been debating selling the collection if I could find another serious owner out there. I've been thinking of contacting the official web site about it but not sure if I can part with my turtles...but then, is it an unhealthy obsession to hold on to kids toys? I mean, when I think about it...they bring only me joy whereas to others they are a silly, if not bizarre investment. And, after all, they are material things.

But I do have my moods...I'd probably invest in something else...besides the help the money would be for medical bills and/or a new kitchen or glasses for me. I guess I just have to really really think this one over...but I wonder...how many hardcore fans are out there who'd even take interest in this?

Another THYLAZINE UPDATE

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 4, 2007, 8:23 AM
I have gotten a few great thylacine submissions for the zine but of course I want more, so want to be sure to create constant reminders for everyone! I will be open to taking submissions for anything and everything thylacine-related. I am shooting for a publication date of Feb 2008.

What I am looking for:

1) Thylacine Artwork: Illustrations that can be antho or non-anthro style, even 3D materials photographed well like clay, jewlery, or statues you make and carve. Traditional and digital art is fine. Files should be full size JPGs. I do not want originals unless you have no other way to provide me with the art, in which case your original will be returned to you.

2) Comics: Funny singles or strips, or even pages like graphic novel style to tell a story.

3) Thylacine Stories: Short stories and poems featuring the thylacine no longer than 8 typed pages Times New Roman in Word. They do not need double-spacing.

4) Thylacine Photography: Good, clear photos of vintage taxidermy and location where photo was shot. Photo-maipulations are ok like if you take the taxidermy mount and place it in a real-world scene using Photoshop, but I still need info. on said taxidermy like the museum it was in.

5) Commentary: Why you think the thylacine should or should not be cloned, if it does or does not still live...your opinion-style articles.

DEADLINE Submit no later than November 15th. All people who submit and get into the zine will recieve a free copy, unless you live outside the US, wherein I will need to charge extra for shipping.
Send all entries to Watergazer@Comcast.net Please provide as much information as possible like your name and web address and/or email, along with your physical address I can ship to. Not all submissions will be accepted but all have an equal chance at publication, and I'm looking for a real nice cover design from someone as well!
